Prabhadevi

Prabhadevi

Prabhadevi is a central district neighbourhood of Mumbai city, situated between Dadar to the north and Worli to the south. The locality is actually named after an old temple of the goddess Prabhadevi which stands in its oldest section. However, more popular is the Siddhivinayak temple dedicated to the Lord Ganesha, which is a major landmark and attracts droves of worshipers from all religions.

The Neighbourhood

Prabhadevi has traditionally been a middle class residential neighbourhood. This area has also attracted big businesses due to its many advantages as a business destination and numerous corporations have their offices in commercial facilities here. Located in the geographical centre of Mumbai, Prabhadevi is very accessible from most sections of the city. From the transportation perspective, it is well linked by numerous bus routes and the local railway stations, both Dadar and Elphinstone Road, are situated nearby.

In Recent Years

Recent years have seen a surge in property prices in Prabhadevi which has heralded a construction boom catering to high end residential apartments in this traditionally middle class haven. Older residential areas still maintain their charm and along with a sea-front, that make Prabhadevi a very liveable locality. Prabhadevi also includes the Twin Tower Lane and the upcoming Raheja and Tanna Buildings, houses for many affluent residents of Bombay.
